Goa, the Lost Paradise
I first went to India nearly 10 years ago. I have to be honest I had never been really keen on going there after all I read and was told about the country. Then I met my partner who loves India and couldn't believe it when I told him after nearly 10 years at the time in the tourism industry I had never been to India. He then decided to take me there.
We flew via Mumbai where we stayed 24 hours to visit this incredible city. I fell in love with India straight away. The colours, the atmosphere, the people, the food.....I just love it! But it was already time to continue our trip to Goa
Goa is the smallest state in India but there is some much to do. Beautiful beaches and landscapes. If you like spices, sea food and curries you will be in heaven. You can have a body massage, foot massage, temporary tatous for a few dollars on the beach.
Goa is still a very affordable destination. You can find a very nice accommodation between 5 up to £50 a night for a beautiful villa.
From one place to another it is very cheap to travel but long and uncomfortable. If you have the budget a taxi would be better for long distances. It will cost you around 25£. My partner and I are going to Goa every year in February. November to March is the best time to go to Goa. If you happen to go Benaulim Beach, there is a Shack called Dominik. It is the best place for a nice meal but also entertainment. You can spend all day there or come every day if you stay at Benaulim. Dominik will keep the best spot for you to enjoy the sun set every night on your sun beds kept just for you. Also an amazing place to meet people from all over the world. Important point Goa is a gay friendly destination. This is also why my partner and I like going there every year!
Goa is by far one of India's most iconic travel destinations and home to an amazing array of sights, activities and events. Even first time visitors in Goa will quickly be captivated by how fun and fascinating Goa really can be. For those looking for a glimpse of the real India, or just a fun night out, Goa mixes old world charm with a modern and vibrant night life.
